Foster Guide
Welcome to Shy Club! If you’re reading this you have decided to foster a shy dog with us and we can’t thank you enough.
The first couple weeks out of the shelter can be stressful for dogs. The shelter can cause a lot of anxiety and it takes some time for them to shake it off so we always say for the first few weeks please “keep it boring”.
- No busy area or crowded outings
- No parties
- No dog parks (ever)
Just create some basic routines, work on housetraining, get them used to the crate and being home alone, and let them figure out where they now live.
You’re both getting used to each other so it’s important to follow some basic guidelines to ensure a smooth transition.
